Tyrannosaurus Rex Description
Tyrannosaurs Rex, the most famous dinosaur of all time, was the most powerful predatory creature in the Cretaceous era. With its massive bite force and overwhelming size, Tyrannosaurus was the ultimate predator of its time. It lived in North America and preyed on creatures like Triceratops and Edmontosaurus. In contrast to recent studies, the T-rex was certainly not a scavenger.
Could You Outrun a Tyrannosaurus Rex?
Considering the fastest human’s quickest running speed is 28 mph and the average Tyrannosaurs can run at max speeds of 45 mph, then it’s safe to assume that no one would be able to beat a Tyrannosaurus in a race. Tyrannosaurus Rex likely used its great speeds for abusing and capturing prey. However, the T-rex probably couldn’t maintain that speed for too long due to its extreme body weight and size. Still, catching prey would not be an issue for the T-rex because of its bite force of 57,000 newtons and 50 to 60 giant serrated teeth.
Are You Bigger Than a Tyrannosaurus?
Although not the largest land predator, losing out to other dinosaurs like Spinosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus, the Tyrannosaurus Rex still had massive dimensions. It was around 13 feet tall at the hips, weighed an average of nine tons, and was 43 feet long. Its size made it a formidable threat to other prehistoric creatures, but because of that the element of surprise was difficult to incorporate in any ambush. With that being said, most creatures, extinct and living would still find the Tyrannosaurus Rex’s power to be unavoidable.
