Brachiosaurus Description
Brachiosaurus Altithorax was a ginormous Sauropod of the lush forests of North America during the Jurassic period of the Mesozoic era. It fed on the leaves of lumbering trees alongside members of its herd. Brachiosaurus likely had a whip-like tail that could be used in defense like other sauropods like Diplodocus
Could You Outrun a Brachiosaurus?
Brachiosaurus was slow compared to other dinosaurs of its time. It could not have relied on speed to escape from predators. However it did not need speed as Brachiosaurus was a huge creature. No prehistoric predator would have been brave enough to provoke a giant animal like Brachiosaurus even if it was an herbivore. The real threat came from its powerful tail which could be swung at 67 miles per hour which would certainly leave a mark on any foolish carnivore.
Are You Bigger Than a Brachiosaurus?
Brachiosaurus was one of the largest creatures to ever roam the Earth. It was at max 72 feet long, 50 feet tall, and weighed 80 tons. It was so heavy that, unlike that of what many theories suggest, Brachiosaurus likely could not rear up on its hind legs to reach taller foliage or in self defense. This still does not take any awe away from the giant, lumbering creature that the magnificent Brachiosaurus was.
